Ding-dong goes the doorbell, a new door with fresh new tunes opens and the music starts to play on this record from the mads hansen trio- a new constellation that adds to the soundimage-a surprising setup with sax, an at times freaky, countrylike guitar, humpty-dumpty bassgrooves and occasional hip percussion- the initial tune doorbell a catchy tune with a joyfull bassline and "classic" sax and the "sixtieslike" guitar, te moody tunes like popcrawl, it´s like hangover on sundays....phrygian mood , a trip on the scale of the same name, a slow, waltzy, danceable unrest which embraces you with it´s intimacy, simplicity incorporating coolness with a basssolo, then stop at the station slow and coolly waiting for the train to take you somewhere- maybe to the cattle & soulfolks, it makes you feel like driving around the country, looking for Dairy Queen..track 9 rhythm gets you back down jazzalley..admittedly in the end you can´t help being charmed by this approach to jazz that closes up with a convincing, emotional track like uriah - the trio united in a sound that makes you feel comfortable to take it in, just by yourself, time after time..
